Q: Can you recommend any books for Bnei Noach? What do you recommend for an in-depth study of the Seven Mitzvot? Is there halachic literature for Bnei Noach?

Q: Dear Rabbi,

I have been interested in Judaism for several years. At first, I visited Jewish websites, I listened to lectures on the approach of Judaism and such matters as the Jewish calendar. Now I am continuing with the book “Messilat Yesharim” by the Ramchal. However, the deeper I delve into the study of Judaism the more I have seen that for me as a Gentile who grew up in a regular family many topics in these books are beyond my experience and my understanding.

With this as a start I found some books by Rabbi Schwartz, and I have also seen Noahide websites where I read various articles. My question is: can you recommend any books for Bnei Noach? What do you recommend for an in-depth study of the Seven Mitzvot? Is there halachic literature for Bnei Noach?

A: You should read “The Return of Israel and the Hope of the World” by Abraham Livni (recently translated into English – available from Gefen Publishers and Amazon). We at the Noahide World Center are in the process of writing a Code of Laws for Noahides. In the meantime, you can read Chapters 9 and 10 of the Laws of Kings (Hilchot Melachim) written by the Rambam.
