Broadcast 8 Part 1 – The Birth of a Son
In the eighth Brit Olam broadcast, Rabbi Abe Weschler discusses the lessons for all of humanity to be learned from what we have been taught about Noah.
The eighth Brit Olam internet broadcast was held on June 9, 2013. Rabbi Abe Weschler discusses the fact that Noah’s birth is treated in the Torah (and in other secondary sources, such as the Book of Enoch) very differenty from the births of other figures in the ancient world. There are various ways to explain this unique approach to Noah, either as an inherent trait or as the result of the actions of Noah and his family. Humanity should learn from his life and actions to take the initiative and share responsibility with G-d for the development of the world.
